Streets and Grounds

1.      The sinkhole is now seven inches deep.  Monitoring needs to continue.

2.      One more mowing of common areas is needed this Fall.
  1. LM and LK will measure sinkhole again following the next meeting.
  2. LK will contact Mowtown Mowing.

Public Relations

  1. Next newsletter will be published by November 14.  Photographs from the Midway Fall Festival and Halloween will be next in newsletter.  A short paragraph about area organizations that are collecting food will be included in the newsletter.  In addition, a blank advertisement (this space for rent) will be included.
  2. A welcome letter to new homeowners will be created and mailed to new homeowners.

 

  1. BR will produce newsletter and LK will take photographs of Halloween.
  2.  LM and SC will draft welcome letter.

Civic Action

1.  City of Midway’s web site will be reviewed for latest minutes.

Finance

1.      Reviewed dues collection – Two households have not paid and liens have been placed on their properties.  Discussion was held about the taking nonpaying households to small claims court to collect the homeowners association dues.   

2.      Current balance is $9,249.92 including three checks that were signed at this meeting.  The first check was for $5.50 to the City of Midway for property taxes.  The second check was $37.38 to the Woodford County Sheriff for the county property taxes and a check for $513.50 to Emily Knox Moon for legal services.

1.      LK will contact attorney about homeowners association’s legal rights and research the small claim court process and costs.  process
