Installation
of an entrance sign for the neighborhood.
Option E was chosen.
|
Several
negative comments re: sign’s appearance. “Possibly different sign” “Put this in for now, but plan for better
sign in the future.” |
The
board looked into other sign possibilities, but found the quotes and options
to be much more expensive or unattractive.
The
sign approved by the majority of homeowners should immediately provide a
landmark to folks coming to the neighborhood. If you are interested in planning for a
more attractive sign for the future, please contact the board. |

Homeowners’
annual dues will be maintained at $80 per year
|
“I
think the issue of having the city maintain, insure, etc. should be further
researched at this point.” |
Our
plats state that the Homeowners Association is responsible for the maintenance
of these areas. The plats set the
responsibility for maintenance. Becky
Moore (city mayor) and Joe Hoffman (city attorney) stated they would be
willing to consider taking over these areas. This proposal would have to be
approved by the city council, and would be a difficult measure to justify. Larry
Mitchum is heading a committee to research this
further, and will present a proposal to our Civic Action committee to take
before the City Council. Contact Larry
if you are interested in helping. |

Obtain
liability for the common areas and HOA directors / officers for an annual
premium between $1,800-$2,300.
|
“I
can’t believe it would be this high when no structures are involved. I believe you need to talk with other
insurance companies.” |
It
was difficult to get responses from companies,
especially as an insurance agent (other companies view it as competition). Larry
Mitchum obtained other quotes; Mary Legge is reviewing them, and will recommend the best
offer. The prices came in at $1,300
and $1,775 respectively. Mary
and Larry will recommend the lowest cost insurance that meets our
requirements. |
